IN BARCELONA, ASCENDUM CONFIRMS THAT WRX IS A KEY EVENT TO STRENGTHEN BONDS WITH CUSTOMERS AND ACCELERATE E-MOBILITY

An incredible weekend, with lots of emotion in Barcelona, where Ascendum was again the hosting dealer and gold sponsor of the CE Dealer Team, in partnership with Volvo CE, the Official Track Building Partner. A great result also for the Construction Equipment Dealer Team, that took its third consecutive podium in the FIA World Rallycross Championship, as Niclas Grönholm claimed second in the penultimate round in the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit.

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE FOR ALL OUR GUESTS

It was a memorable weekend for the CE Dealer Team, but also for the approximately 400 guests from Volvo CE and Ascendum, for who the experience was much more than just the race. They had also the opportunity to take part in all the experiences we activated especially for them, with great participation from Spanish Customers, Ascendum Teams and invited Technical Schools:

A E-mobility machinery exhibition where Customers could see the new electric machines very closely.
Change Starts Here and Going Electric seminars.
A fun zone for guests that included a kids mini excavator sand-pit and the Excavator Challenge won by one of our Customers that received an annual subscription to watch online the full WRX Championship in 2023.
Some of the Ascendum Spain Service Technicians also participated In a VIP experience where they met the CE Dealer Technical Team;
Visit to Paddock to meet the CE Dealer Team, Klara and Niclas and also to take a close look to the cars;
Ride-along Track experience with the veteran Rally Driver Marcus Grönholm driving guests and Ascendum team members on a CE Dealer Team cars.

ASCENDUM SPAIN PROVIDED ALL THE VOLVO MACHINES FOR THE EVENT

To assist Volvo CE as the Official Track Building Partner, Volvo machines came directly from Ascendum Spain and participated in the most varied missions: to prepare the entire track, including building the Joker Lap maintaining the track on the 2 race days and even as car rescuers during the race.

BARCELONA RACE RESULTS

This Spanish double header at the classic F1 circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya, was the first-ever all-electric World RX event, with all classes competing throughout the weekend being 100% electric.

Niclas Grönholm finished second on Saturday and taking his third straight podium in the World RX. He is now third in the standings going into the final round, just nine points from second place in the drivers’ championship.

Klara Andersson fought back on Sunday to secure her third appearance in a World RX final, finishing fourth ahead of team-mate Grönholm. The Swedish driver holds seventh in the standings, six points short of sixth.

CE Dealer Team holds third in the team standings ahead of the final round, which takes place in Germany on November 12-13.

A VERY POSITIVE BALANCE FOR ASCENDUM, REGARDING THIS SPONSORSHIP

After our presence in Montalegre, in Portugal, the Barcelona race proved that that the WRX Championship is a key event to strengthen bonds with Customers and accelerate e-mobility.

This was the penultimate race of this 2022 championship and the second of Ascendum as hosting race dealer. It was the first year of a commitment that Ascendum assumed for 3 years and an experience extremely positive, given the amazing feed-back that we are receiving from Customers, from Volvo CE and from Ascendum Teams.

It has been also a unique opportunity to present to our Customers our shared vision of a more sustainable future and therefore, contribute to accelerate the electric transformation in the construction equipment industry.
