Ascendum is the World RX race hosting dealer in legendary Montalegre, Portugal

Together with Volvo CE - the official track building partner - Ascendum will be the race hosting dealer and Gold Sponsor of the CE Dealer team at Montalegre, the next World RX race on September 17 and 18.
After a challenging race weekend in Riga two weeks ago, Construction Equipment Dealer Team returns to World RX-action - as the team continue its ground-breaking journey with a new double header in Montalegre, Portugal.
High up in the Vila Real mountains in the north of the country, Portugal’s picturesque and historic Montalegre track formed part of the original FIA World Rallycross Championship calendar back in 2014, with 2022 marking the first time Portugal hosts a round of the new all-electric era.
The 945m track is located some 1,000m above sea level, requiring engines to be finely tuned to deal with the altitude. Its undulating layout and unpredictable weather have produced many breathtaking battles over the years.
Ascendum and Volvo CE will be receiving about 300 guests for a highspeed experience, including:
- 180 VIP customers
- Ascendum Team
- 6 professional schools
The FIA World RX race in Portugal starts on Saturday with round four of the 2022 FIA World RX season, followed by round five on Sunday. The carefully prepared program for these incredible two days will include many events besides the race:
- A Volvo machines parade
- An Excavator Challenge
- A kids mini excavator sand-pit
- Change Starts Here and Go Electric seminars
- Meet the CE Dealer Team, Klara and Niclas, in Paddock
Some of our Service Technicians will also have a unique experience behind the scenes, with a Visit to the Spotter’s tower and meeting the drivers and mechanics at the Paddock.
Niclas Grönholm that already competed in Montalegre, stated that” The track in Portugal is very nice, and a place I really like going to. So, I’m really looking forward to the Portuguese race weekend”.
For Klara Andersson it will be the first time in Portugal, competing on a track often described as a drivers’ favourite. ”It will be the first time for me on the Montalegre track which I have heard a lot of positive things about, and I do look forward to race here”.
