ASCENDUM AND VCE TEAM UP TO ACCELERATE E-MOBILITY WITH THE FIA WRX 2023

Wednesday, April 26, 2023

Ascendum Group is once again the Hosting Dealer of the Montalegre stopover, and Gold Sponsor of the CE Dealer Team.

In one of the most exciting races in motorsport, this high-speed partnership between Ascendum and Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), aims to raise awareness on the relevant role that the construction equipment and machinery sector is playing in the change towards a more sustainable future.

The World Rallycross Championship joined a new era in 2022 that intends to strengthen in 2023: embracing electric mobility and have an active role on this transition. This new era brought added challenges, as a new generation of all-electric competition cars required a new generation of rallycross tracks. This challenge activated the pioneering partnership that Volvo CE developed with the International Automobile Federation (FIA) as official track building partner, ensuring a neutral carbon footprint through the use of electric machines and the latest low emission biofuel engines in track preparation.

Ascendum, as one of the world's largest supplier of machinery solutions for construction, industry, and infrastructure, has announced their partnership with Volvo CE machinery and equipment for the second consecutive year. The multi-national company has joined as a Gold Sponsor of the CE Dealer Team and will be hosting the 1st stage of the 2023 World Championship in Montalegre, Portugal on June 3rd and 4th. The event will see key stakeholders from 7 of Ascendum's 14 geographies in a multi-market approach, with the aim of extending the impact of e-mobility to different markets, and increase Ascendum’s brand awareness by connecting with new audiences and strenghten relationships with our key stakeholders.

This partnership reflects the shared vision of Ascendum and Volvo CE: the ambition to build the future we want to live in. Besides promoting the e-mobility, the World RX competition promotes the diversity, inclusion and sustainability in motorsport. CE Dealer Team is currently the only mixed-gender team (Niclas Grönholm and Klara Andersson - who respectively came 3rd and 7th in the 2022 world championship) competing, driving 100% electric rallycross cars, which makes this partnership crucial for raising awareness among Ascendum's customers and partners regarding electric mobility, carbon neutrality and the solutions already available on the market.

In addition to watching the thrilling competition, Ascendum's customers and partners will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience, including: electric machines demos, as well as the opportunity to clarify and mitigate myths surrounding the topic, with the specialists. Attendees will also have the chance to assist seminars with the Volvo CE team on the challenges and opportunities related to this transition. Furthermore, guests will be granted access to the paddock, where they can meet the CE Dealer Team and see how the rallycross teams prepare the cars for the races. The World RX Championship not only serves as a key event for customer activation but also provides a unique opportunity for Ascendum employees, particularly service technicians. Exclusive access to the paddock allows them to acquire skills related to e-mobility alongside those who use and operate it on a daily basis.

Ascendum's sponsorship of the World Rallycross Championship (World RX) is the recognition that this is the perfect alliance between entertainment (competition), education and information, actively contributing to accelerate individual and collective action towards greater sustainability and also to build lasting realtionships with our key stakeholders, increasing Ascendum’s brand notoriety. An opportunity not only to activate customers, but also to activate other economic, decision-making and sectorial agents, raising their awareness for a reality that is needed in the near future.

The 1st stage of the World Rallycross Championship mirrors the transformation in mobility: the transition from combustion mobility to electric mobility. This stage, which combines electric cars with combustion cars, makes Portugal a demonstration stage that proves the efficiency, autonomy, performance and potential of electric mobility.

The 2023 FIA World Rallycross Championship is made up of several stages that will run between the months of June and November. More details about the event are available at: https://www.fiaworldrallycross.com/world-rx/ and https://www.cedealerteam.com/
