The PONSSE Scorpion King is designed to deliver superior capacity and performance, especially when working in the most challenging forest conditions. Its unique cabin solution ensures excellent visibility in every direction, while the advanced stabilization system and triple-frame structure provide unbeatable stability and operator comfort. Eight wheels guarantee low ground pressure, allowing smooth and reliable operation even on slopes and uneven terrain.

Equipped with a powerful engine and strong hydraulics, the Scorpion King produces all the power required for both harvesting and transmission. Its intelligent stabilization technology detects the crane’s position and presses the rear frame in the working direction, significantly enhancing stability even when moving or working sideways. The centrally positioned, hydraulically leveled cabin minimizes swaying and keeps the centre of gravity aligned, ensuring safe and precise handling at all times.

For larger trees, the Scorpion King features advanced double-circuit hydraulics with separate pumps for the crane and harvester head, supported by a hydraulic pump drive that increases rotational speed. This ensures a consistent hydraulic oil flow, making operations efficient and smooth regardless of conditions. Combining visibility, ergonomics, safety, and raw power, the Scorpion King stands as one of the most advanced harvesters in modern forestry.

Benefits & Features

Operator-Centered Cabin Design

Operator-Centered Cabin Design

The design of the Scorpion places the operator at the very centre of the machine, ensuring maximum comfort, visibility, and efficiency. The cabin is positioned in the middle, allowing a clear view of the machine’s extremities, even in dense thinning sites. Because the operator sits at the centre of the cabin’s turning radius, rotation feels smooth and stable, without the sensation of being on a carousel. This unique layout greatly improves wellbeing at work and reduces fatigue. The innovative crane solution provides excellent visibility in every direction, enabling efficient tree selection, precise felling, and accurate placement into piles for the highest harvesting quality.

High-Precision Positioning for Maximum Efficiency

High-Precision Positioning for Maximum Efficiency

PONSSE High-Precision Positioning gives operators exact information on the location of both the machine and the harvester head. By ensuring precise awareness in real time, it keeps logging operations efficient even in unpredictable and constantly changing forest conditions. Available for all PONSSE harvesters equipped with Active Crane, this feature can also be retrofitted, making it a flexible solution to improve productivity and reliability in demanding environments.

Unmatched Stability and Balanced Frame Design

Unmatched Stability and Balanced Frame Design

The exceptional stability of the Scorpion comes from its eight-wheel structure and advanced active stabilization system. This patented solution detects the direction and position of the crane and presses the rear frame in the working direction, ensuring the rear wheels remain firmly on the ground. The added weight of the rear frame significantly increases stability when working to the side – even when the machine is moving.

The cabin remains perfectly level thanks to a unique three-part frame structure linked by rotating joints. Positioned in the hydraulically balanced middle frame, the cabin stays stable while the front and rear frames adapt to the terrain. With a very low pivot point for lateral leveling, side swaying is minimized and the centre of mass remains aligned with the machine’s centre line. The result is superior operator comfort, precision, and reliability in all forest conditions.
