From the centrally positioned cabin, operators benefit from excellent visibility in every direction, ensuring smooth and precise work. Separate hydraulic pumps for the crane and harvester head, combined with a high-speed hydraulic pump drive, ensure a sufficient and consistent oil flow for maximum efficiency.
The Scorpion Giant’s unique stabilization system automatically detects the crane’s direction and presses the rear frame in the working direction, enhancing stability even when working sideways or in motion. Active Crane – Smarter, Easier Control
PONSSE Active Crane introduces a new way to control the loader or harvester head, making operations smoother and more efficient. Instead of managing multiple functions individually, the operator simply directs the grapple or harvester head movement. With two intuitive levers, one sets the height from the ground and the other the direction of movement, while the system automatically manages the boom and extension. This reduces operator workload, improves precision, and allows full focus on productive loader work. Available as an option, Active Crane turns complex handling into simple, efficient performance.
Operator-Centered Cabin with Full Visibility
The design of the Scorpion Giant places the operator at the very centre of the machine, ensuring unmatched comfort and efficiency. With the cabin located in the middle, it is easier to see the machine’s extremities, even in dense thinning sites. Positioned at the centre of the cabin’s turning radius, the operator experiences smooth, stable movement without the sensation of rotation, greatly improving comfort and wellbeing at work.
The unique crane solution provides excellent all-round visibility, including clear side views, enabling efficient tree selection, precise felling, and accurate piling. With this design, operators can achieve maximum harvesting quality while working with confidence in any forest conditions.
Unrivalled Stability and Balanced Frame Structure
The Scorpion Giant achieves remarkable stability through its eight-wheel design and patented active stabilization system. By detecting the crane’s direction and position, the system automatically presses the rear frame in the working direction, keeping the rear wheels firmly on the ground. This dramatically improves stability when working sideways, even while the machine is in motion.
The innovative three-part frame further enhances balance and operator comfort. The cabin and crane are located in the hydraulically levelled middle frame, while the front and rear frames oscillate with the terrain. Thanks to the low pivot point of lateral leveling, the cabin remains straight and stable, minimizing swaying and keeping the centre of mass perfectly aligned with the machine’s centre line. This design ensures precision, safety, and comfort in all operating conditions, including slopes and uneven ground.
