Ponsse is a world-leading manufacturer of forestry machines and a pioneer in developing responsible solutions for forest harvesting. The Ponsse Manager Pro system collects data generated by forestry machines and presents it in simple, intuitive usage reports.

Ponsse Manager is available in a Standard version (free of charge) and a Pro version (subscription-based). The Pro version offers greater transparency and control over the work of forestry machines, making the daily work of owners, operators and administrative staff simpler and more productive.

It works seamlessly with equipment from other brands — a key factor in environments where machines from different manufacturers need to operate side by side.

While a Ponsse Harvester is required to provide data, any extraction machine — including subcontracted forwarders — can be connected to the system.

“Ponsse is constantly developing digital solutions that respond to customer needs. It was within this context that the new features — Emissions Report and Map Tools — were developed, with the aim of supporting the planning and monitoring of operations,” says Artur Almeida, Product Manager at Ascendum.

Map Tools offer a more complete view of harvesting sites

Map Tools is an essential new feature within the PONSSE Manager Pro service package. These tools allow users to visualise on a map both the machine routes and the production rates of harvesters by timber type. This enables forwarder operators to easily check how many logs are awaiting transport in the forest, as well as what has already been delivered to the timber yard.

In eucalyptus harvesting areas, forwarder operators can immediately identify where the previous operator stopped work, streamlining the planning of subsequent loads. In the office, management gains a clearer overall picture: where machines have been operating, how much has been harvested and how much has been transported to the timber yard — facilitating logistics and timely communication for the next stages of the process.

In the field, harvester operators can flag locations that need to be marked for forwarder operators, including obstacles, soft ground areas and other relevant conditions. The Map Tools feature allows operators to mark these locations on a map as points of interest (POI).

The CO₂ Emissions Report helps meet environmental requirements

As the world’s leading manufacturer of forestry machines, Ponsse introduces the new Emissions Report feature, included in the Manager Pro service package, which calculates and displays the atmospheric CO₂ emissions of harvesters and forwarders at machine, harvesting site and company level, for a defined time period.

Monitoring site-specific emissions helps reduce fuel consumption, effectively contributing to meeting both environmental requirements and operational objectives. The Emissions Report also makes it possible to identify which machines are best suited to different terrains and forest harvesting conditions. The reports offer multiple perspectives on emissions — from individual machines to company level — segmented by working method or time period.
