With a strategic location adjacent to the IP3 (Coimbra–Viseu), close to the A1 motorway and the IC2, these future facilities will strengthen Ascendum’s presence in the Centre region, bringing greater proximity to customers in the districts of Coimbra, Viseu and Aveiro, as well as Volvo customers across the country.
The project involves the construction of a modern building with 2,212 m² of covered area, set on a 9,100 m² plot. This new facility will feature 12 workshop bays, a maintenance area, a dynamic testing zone, a heavy vehicle wash station, a parts warehouse, a customer service area and a dedicated Volvo truck sales team.
The facilities have been designed to meet the highest quality and brand standards required by Volvo, with a functional layout that promotes process efficiency and operational safety. They will also be equipped with state-of-the-art workshop technology, electric charging systems for trucks and buses, and the capability to service 100% electric, LNG-powered and diesel vehicles.
In a clear commitment to sustainability and innovation, the project includes:
- Self-consumption energy production through photovoltaic panels;
- Oil and wastewater collection and treatment solutions;
- Resource recycling and reuse;
- Training infrastructure, including a dedicated room for technical training and skills development.
The new unit will create 20 direct jobs and represents a further step in Ascendum’s strategy to strengthen its service network and customer proximity, in line with the transformation of the transport sector and the technological evolution of the Volvo Trucks & Buses range.
