Employees plant 500 native trees and take part in conservation activities at Serra da Pescaria, in Nazaré.

Ascendum brought together more than 50 employees at Serra da Pescaria for the “Planting for the Future” initiative, planting native trees and carrying out forestry clearance tasks. Integrated into the company’s social responsibility and sustainability strategy, the initiative aimed to regenerate the local ecosystem and reinforce Ascendum’s commitment to environmentally friendly practices.

On 30th of October, hundreds of native trees were planted — including pine and oak trees — totalling 500 trees, contributing to ecosystem regeneration and carbon footprint reduction. Alongside the planting, volunteer employees carried out forestry clearance work, removing weakened young vegetation and preparing the ground for healthier, more sustainable growth.

The activity took place in an area of significant geological value, known for its preserved dinosaur footprints, offering participants an educational and symbolic experience about nature’s memory and the importance of caring for the future.

“Planting for the Future” was a moment of genuine connection between people, nature and purpose. An initiative that reflects our culture of collaboration and our commitment to a more sustainable future. — Diana Rosa, Human Resources Director, Ascendum Portugal.

With this initiative, Ascendum demonstrates that sustainability and teamwork go hand in hand, promoting actions that benefit the environment and the community, while inspiring responsibility and environmental awareness.

“Planting for the Future” was a day dedicated to tree planting and forestry clearance — and also an opportunity to reinforce values, strengthen the team and leave a positive mark on the environment, underscoring Ascendum’s commitment to a greener, more sustainable future.
