More than 300 customers took part in an Ascendum event dedicated to the solutions and services transforming the construction sector.

Ascendum hosted the “Ascendum Experience – We Build the Future. Today.” event at its Porto business unit, entirely focused on the construction and public works sector. The initiative brought together more than 300 customers for a day dedicated to presenting, in a structured and personal way, the solutions and services shaping the future of the industry.

It was a day devoted to showcasing, in a practical and hands-on format, the solutions and services transforming the sector — from Volvo’s new generation of equipment and Volvo and First Green electric machines, to Metso and Dynapac solutions, as well as Ascendum’s new services and digital platforms.

The opening conference, led by Pedro Gaspar, Ascendum’s Commercial Director, set the stage for the key themes of the moment: energy transition, digitalisation and operational efficiency, paving the way for a journey through seven thematic stations that customers were able to explore first-hand.

The Ascendum Experience was an event designed to bring to life the solutions we make available to those who build the future. Throughout this journey, visitors could explore 7 thematic stations showcasing the best of our technology, service and innovation.

Ascendum Experience Highlights

NEW GENERATION – Volvo 

025 marks a historic milestone for Volvo CE, with the highest number of new product launches in a decade and the renewal of more than 45% of its machine lineup. Excavators, wheel loaders and dumpers arrive with more efficient engines, optimised hydraulic systems and intuitive cabs. The result: greater productivity at a lower total cost of operation, improved operator comfort and a reduced environmental footprint.

At both the conference and the dedicated station, Diogo Martins, Sales Manager, presented these innovations, demonstrating that it is possible to achieve more with less.

THE ENERGY OF THE FUTURE – Volvo and First Green 

Volvo’s electric machines represent a new era: clean power, quiet performance and reduced operating costs. A smart solution for operations that demand low environmental impact. First Green Industries brought its pioneering vision with 100% electric equipment, ideal for urban maintenance, green spaces and small-scale construction — always with zero emissions and high performance.

Complementing this vision, First Green Industries presented 100% electric equipment for urban maintenance, landscaping and small-scale construction, combining zero emissions with autonomy and reliability.

This theme was presented by João Jordão, Product Specialist, at both the conference and the station, reinforcing Ascendum’s commitment to sustainability.

ENGINEERING FOR RESULTS – Metso 

Metso demonstrated why it is a world reference in material processing solutions. Its crushing and screening equipment, designed for quarries, mines and recycling operations, combines power, mobility and energy efficiency — ensuring continuous, reliable operations at a low cost per tonne produced.

The brand was highlighted at the conference and explored in depth at Station 3, with both moments presented by João Teixeira, Product Specialist.

PRECISION IN MOTION – Dynapac 

With more than 80 years of experience, Dynapac remains a trusted name in compaction and paving.

SMART SERVICES – Ascendum 

At the conference, the Smart Services segment underlined the importance of putting technology and expertise to work for productivity and customer proximity. This area encompasses several innovative solutions, of which we highlighted four fundamental pillars: Training, Connectivity, Fleet Management and the Ascendum Service Center.

At Ascendum, we believe that knowledge is an investment. That is why we presented our specialised technical training programme, supported by operational simulators that recreate real working scenarios. An immersive experience for operators and technicians, focused on best practices and greater efficiency.

We also addressed the evolution of machine connectivity, which, combined with our expertise, allows us to help customers optimise the productivity of their equipment, ensuring the success of their businesses and operations in an increasingly competitive, data-driven market.

This opened the door to presenting our Fleet Management solution, an innovative platform that analyses operational data through direct integration with manufacturers’ telematics systems. With daily-updated, easy-to-read dashboards, customers can monitor key metrics such as fuel consumption, emissions, working hours and productivity. A practical and strategic tool to identify inefficiencies, optimise resources and improve operational profitability.

Finally, we shared the transformation of our Ascendum Service Center — from its new name and identity to the new processes that reflect a multidisciplinary centre, equipped with advanced technology and a highly specialised team, ready to ensure maximum equipment availability and minimise downtime.

Several key people were involved in this segment: João Velez, After-Sales Director, and Sebastião Matos, Retail and After-Sales Manager, participated in the conference. At the stations, Pedro Duarte, Ascendum Service Center Manager, and Nuno Salgueiro, Service Advisor at the Service Center; trainers Rui Pedro Lopes, Rogério Faustino and Rúben Barbosa in Training; André Gomes, Data Analysis Supervisor in Fleet Management; and Tiago Pimentel, Marketing Director, and Herlander Santos, New Projects Development Director, in the presentation of My Ascendum.

The Ascendum Experience was also a moment for connection and closeness: a closing gathering strengthened the relationships between customers, partners and the Ascendum team.

The success of the Porto edition demonstrated the strength of cross-brand collaboration, the dedication of our team and the trust our customers place in us.
