Ascendum has taken an important step in its history with the integration of Tania Perez, the company’s first female Service Technician in Portugal.
Tania joined Ascendum through an Erasmus internship program, turning the challenge of a new country and a new life into an inspiring example of resilience and passion for mechanics.
Originally from Madrid, Tania’s path began in her family’s workshop, where she grew up surrounded by motorcycles and tools. For 14 years, she worked in the family business and, driven by curiosity and a genuine love for mechanics, decided to change direction and pursue formal training as a technician.
In 2025, an Erasmus internship opportunity brought her to Ascendum’s Leiria branch, where her dedication and eagerness to learn quickly stood out.
Despite the initial challenges — from adapting to a new country and language to being far from home — Tania never gave up. Her strong performance and positive attitude made it clear to everyone that this was the beginning of a new chapter.
Today, Tania is part of Ascendum’s technical service team, working daily on construction equipment maintenance and repair.
Her story proves that diversity is a driving force, and that passion has no gender.
